Oushak Collection Rug 9'2''x11'7''
The Oushak collection is one of our premiere hand-knotted collections of woolen rugs made in Pakistan by Afghan weavers. Our Oushak collection is a catch-all for a variety of designs that are inspired by both Turkish and Persian designs. The Floral and transitional patterns that both emulate the symmetric flower patterns of Persian classics like the Kashan, but also the looser asymmetric flowers of Turkish Ushaks.
Commonly made in earth tones, you'll also find all hues of blues, reds, and greens, but much like the Turkish Ushak, these colors will be muted, and less saturated. Sometimes referenced to as the Peshawar rug, based on the region in Pakistan they are woven, or even the Chobi, our Oushak Collection is a high-end example of these regional favorites.
You'll encounter high quality wool, short pile heights, and medium weave density, readily around 100 knots per square inch. We've found that the earth tones are versatile in many decor environments, and the washed out look of some Oushaks is a favorite with interior designers. Expect heirloom quality weaves from our Oushak rugs, and generations of use.
