This is a finely Hand Knotted wool rug. It has a natural pile of Wool fibers, on a cotton or wool foundation. The extremely soft wool and fine weave make this a unique collector's piece. Similar in design to Persian karaja rugs, with unique colors and an extremely fine weave - this is a hard piece to place exactly and is likely woven by Kurdish weavers in Iran. The weave uses a traditional Persian senneh knot, and is 150 knots per square inch, having almost 500,000 knots in this small accent piece. A beautiful Traditional almost tribal design in an Medallion pattern. Woven in Iran, the dominant colors are Ivory and Red/Burgundy.
